The indoor range at Monashka Bay

Are you interested in becoming an NRA Certified Instructor?  Please contact the Vice President for details.

THE WINTER SCHEDULE WILL BE IN EFFECT STARTING NOVEMBER 1st, 2009.  Scroll down for days and times.

Kodiak Island Sportsman's Association (K.I.S.A.) is a non-profit organization operated by volunteers. When you join the club, you along with your family will receive a considerable savings on indoor range fees and unlimited access to 2 outdoor ranges.

K.I.S.A. encourages that all firearms be used at these established ranges instead of vandalizing road signs and destroying other things that have no target value or skill level.

K.I.S.A. holds matches for pistol and rifle. High-power rifle matches, silhouette matches for Rimfire & Centerfire + 3 position small bore Shoots, Bench rest Shoots for Rimfire Rifle and Centerfire Rifle, Bullseye matches and Action pistol matches.

K.I.S.A. also sponsors other programs, such as the Alaska Concealed Carry Pistol permit class, several Junior Rifle programs, and various other clinics.

  Indoor Shooting Range

Kodiak Island Sportsman's Association is located in Monashka Bay on the Monashka Bay Road. Take a right hand turn onto the VFW road, drive past the VFW and down the hill.  Stop by and check us out.

This range is open to members and non-members 5-6 days a week for most of the year.

Shut downs happen at times, so check the daily schedule posted at the range, on our web page or call 486-8566 for a recording of events and times.

When you first enter the building, you will find yourself in the lobby.  The lobby is partitioned off, however at times it can be very loud from the gunfire.  The firing line is under the Range Officers control, if the firing line is HOT!  Please be patient, the Range Officer will be out to greet you when it is safe to do so.We have a TV and VCR for people to use. You can bring your own tapes for those who will not be shooting, or we have a small selection of firearm related videos.

The indoor range has 10 firing lines with target carriers that stop at 9, 25, 50, and 75 feet. We allow all pistols up to .45 caliber and rimfire rifles.

All cartridges used in the indoor range must be under 2,000 ft. per second.  If you are unsure about your firearm, please ask the R.O. for assistance.
